Why? USA companies are terrible compared to what's made in my own country. I have many R1 DVDs from a set of companies, and most of them are below decent standards. Inconsistent translations, presentations, errors in romanization, sloppy presentation (some DVDs don't even have a chapter selection menu), lack of extras despite the price are just a few problems they have.
Not to mention the artificial delay in the releases: an announcement followed by a release two years later makes absolutely no sense from a commercial point of view.
Since I pay exactly the same for either R1 or R2 versions, I have the liberty to choose, and I choose not to support companies that do a sloppy job.
Last but not least, please back your statement up with something that's more than just a try to ridicule what I said. This isn't 4chan.

"I’m more inclined towards R2 DVDs (I’ve already preordered the first StrikerS volume, by the way) than the USA version."

I can't seem to stop laughing my ass off at this statement.
